Willis Carrier Recreation Center and Challenger Field of Dreams Set Goals

Appel Osborne Landscape Architecture is so excited to be working with the Town of DeWitt on this project at Carrier Park.  When completed, the Willis Carrier Recreation Center will be the leading, all-inclusive outdoor multi-sports and wellness complex designed for the use and enjoyment of the residents and visitors of Central New York.   In addition to a tennis court, basketball courts, picnic pavilion, football field and a walking trail, the complex will provide advanced level athletic fields which will allow for tournament competition in little league baseball, soccer and lacrosse.  Even more importantly, Carrier Park will be developed to meet the needs of all youth players, with handicapped accessible fields, playgrounds and other facilities, so all children and their families may partake fully and inclusively in activities. The Challenger Field of Dreams will serve children with special needs, ages 5 to 21, who participate in the Challenger Division of NY District 8 Little League, and provide them with a permanent venue for their league.
