Ribbon Cutting at Middletown CSD

Ribbon Cutting at Middletown CSD

The Enlarged City School District of Middletown celebrated the opening of their new Presidential Park Elementary School with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, November 22.  Voters approved this project nearly five years ago and construction on the new building began in April 2011.  On September 9, 2013, the new elementary school opened for full use.  More than 1,300 kindergarten through fifth grade students attend the new 210,000 square foot school.  One of the highlights of this project is the enclosed park-like courtyard.  Other site features include teacher/staff/visitor parking for over 250 vehicles, a bus loop to accommodate over 30 buses, campus access road, retaining walls and separate parent drop-offs.  There is pedestrian circulation around the 46+ acre campus with access to playfields and playscapes.  Appel Osborne Landscape Architecture is thrilled to have been a part of this exciting project and is happy to celebrate its opening with the District.
