Pine Grove Middle School Project Focus of Study

Appel Osborne Partner, Tim Bonaparte, and Project Manager, Katy Jacobs, are proudly observing their design at Pine Grove Elementary School in the East Syracuse-Minoa Central School District come to fruition.  The project is currently under construction and expected to be completed this summer.  The site design includes a new courtyard and outdoor learning area including sustainable features such as permeable pavers and native demonstration gardens.  Other site improvements include bus loop and front parking modification, accessibility improvements, baseball field improvements, cross country/nature trail improvements, and parking improvements.  Appel Osborne is honored to have a continued relationship with the District and be involved on this project.  This project has an interesting attribute as it is the center of a study titled “Researching Performance Impacts of 21st Century Learning Environments”.  Please visit http://healthyschoolsresearch.com/ to learn more about the philosophy and goals behind the design of the new learning spaces.
