OCC Coyne Fields in the News

The new OCC Coyne Fields baseball and softball complex is being noticed for its contribution to the College’s athletic program as well as programs in the surrounding areas.  The new synthetic turf fields allow for play in the sometimes difficult spring weather and many local high school teams are taking advantage.  The new stadium has already been booked to host some Section III sectional semifinal and regional games and is being compared to NBT Bank Stadium.  Although OCC baseball and softball teams are the primary tenants, the hope is that the complex can host bigger high school events in the future.

The new fields are an asset to the College’s teams as well.  Over the years the baseball team has played at fields in Liverpool and Clay, NY, and it was challenging for the team to have to pack up their gear and drive across the county to practice or host a home game.  A dedicated team worked hard to make their new home facility a reality, which was officially dedicated on April 24, 2014.
