Marcellus CSD Celebrates Ribbon Cutting at New Softball Field

The seniors on the Marcellus Central School District softball team celebrated senior night in a big way.  Not only did they win their game, they cut the ribbon on the District’s new softball field which was designed by Appel Osborne.  The new field is a long-awaited addition to the District’s athletic facilities.  Until the construction of the new softball field, the team played on soccer fields with a portable backstop and bases or off campus.  Two years ago, the District asked for the community’s help in funding the cost of a new softball field and received generous support.  A community member built the dugouts as his Eagle Scout service project and others volunteered for the construction crew.  AOLA Project Manager, Brittany Belding, worked with the school facilities committee to help coordinate the construction of the field by the community.  Appel Osborne is proud to see the players, coaching staff, and community excited for the new field!  To read more about the field, click the link below:
