Falcon Park Turf Field in Design
A new synthetic turf field is in design for the Auburn Doubledays. The project will allow improvements to make the Falcon Park clubhouses available for year-round use. Appel Osborne is in the preliminary schematic design phase for the new facility. While the primary function of the new turf will be for Doubledays baseball, the turf will be designed to host other sports such as soccer and possibly softball to accommodate neighboring Cayuga Community College. Lines for other sports will not be inlaid into the turf so that it will appear solely as a professional baseball field for use by the Doubledays. Markers will be incorporated throughout the turf to assist in temporarily lining the field for soccer as needed.
