Cherry Road Elementary Addition Receives LEED Silver Certification

Cherry Road Elementary Addition Receives LEED Silver Certification

The new building addition at Cherry Road Elementary School in the Westhill Central School District has received LEED Silver Certification!  Appel Osborne Landscape Architecture is honored to have been a part of this very exciting project, which was completed in 2013.  AOLA provided extensive site work surrounding the building addition, including an elaborate rain garden system and related site amenities.  The rain garden system is designed to collect, filter and infiltrate surface and roof runoff, and is framed with a curvilinear path which features benches, lighted bollards, a permeable paver patio and bridge.  AOLA prepared the site plan and required documentation, contributing 15 points toward LEED Certification.  Congratulations to the Westhill Central School District on this exciting achievement!
