Green Lakes Sustainable Design in the News

Appel Osborne is proud to see the sustainable design at Green Lakes State Park being featured in Spectrum News’ “Going Green” segment.

There are many great elements to the improvements happening at Green Lakes State Park.  The sustainability and green infrastructure being implemented to protect the lakes is just one aspect of the project, but an important one.  Through the use of an array of green infrastructure, Appel Osborne’s design improves drainage patterns and filters storm water runoff before entering the lake.  The renovation and relocation of the original boat house is also a unique aspect of this project.  It will be repurposed into an education center in an effort to strengthen the connection between the community and the state parks.
