ESM CSD Renovations Incorporate Green Infrastructure
Pine Grove Middle School in the East Syracuse-Minoa Central School District will soon undergo major renovations. The latest green infrastructure practices will be implemented for the building renovations and new 12,000 square foot building addition. One of these green design practices is water reclamation, which will allow the school to capture rain water and use it throughout the district as needed. Other features of this project will include LED lighting, enhanced day lighting techniques, a garden roof and a new ventilation system. The project is being used as a teaching tool for students, and they have been involved in the design process. The district welcomes their ideas regarding energy efficiency and making the building welcoming. Glass panels will be installed when the project is completed which will allow students and visitors to see how the infrastructure works.
