Congratulations to two AOLA Team Members on their Promotions

Please join us in congratulating Jennie and Ryan on their promotions.

After 13 years at Appel Osborne, Jennie Kurtz is stepping into a new role as Senior Associate. Jennie joined our team in 2012 as a Project Designer after graduating from SUNY ESF. In 2018, she earned her New York State Registered Landscape Architect license and had started her role as a Project Manager, taking on a more active role in project design and coordination. After years of successful project management and continued dedication to our team, she was promoted to Associate in 2021. Since then, Jennie has continued to bring exceptional organization, thoughtful guidance, and steady leadership to her projects. Her commitment to mentorship and to advancing the firm’s mission of total client satisfaction is an immense asset to our team.

Project Manager, Ryan Mackerer, has been promoted to Associate. Ryan joined Appel Osborne in 2016 as an intern, working with the firm during his fourth and fifth years at SUNY ESF. Upon graduating in 2018, he joined our team full-time as a Project Designer. His ability to produce a wide range of graphics, 3D renderings, and fly-throughs helped Owners clearly visualize their projects. After three years of dedicated design support, Ryan was promoted to Project Manager in 2021. He collaborates with Owners and design teams to support smooth and efficient project development. In the summer of 2024, Ryan earned his New York State Registered Landscape Architect license, and later that year he relocated from Syracuse to lead our new Troy, NY office.
