Byrne Dairy Plant Expansion in the News

One of the rewarding aspects of landscape architecture is seeing how design impacts and supports growth, innovation, and success in our communities.

Appel Osborne has had the privilege of working with Byrne Dairy for decades, providing site design for multiple facilities including their Ultra High Temperature (UHT) Plant in DeWitt, facility expansions and feasibility studies, and most recently the expansion of their Cortlandville plant to support production of their latest offering, ultra-filtered high protein milk.

For 95 years, Byrne Dairy has been a staple of Central New York. Now in its fourth generation of family ownership, their ice cream center and production plants produce dairy products for retailers across the country while also operating statewide convenience store locations.

To support the company's efforts in offering products consistent with consumer demand, they are investing in a substantial expansion of their Cortlandville plant to increase production of ultra-filtered milk. The completion of this project will double the amount of milk being processed with up to 40 million gallons possible per year.

Appel Osborne is providing site design for the plant expansion which includes access roads, new vehicle and large truck parking lots, building accessibility, and design coordination for utilities and circulation needs.
