The East Woods Skate Plaza is the first effort to give skateboarders their own dedicated space in the City of Syracuse.  It is a project that has been envisioned since 2003 and has recently gotten the support and funding to move forward.  Appel Osborne Landscape Architecture is designing the 6,000 square foot skate park with Pillar Design Studios, and local skateboarders are encouraged to provide their input for the design of the new park.  There are a couple other skate parks in the Central New York area, one in Liverpool and one in DeWitt, but skateboarding takes place in undesignated areas throughout the city where there is not a park in close proximity.  East Woods Skate Plaza will be the only park in the city to give skateboarders their own space.  Click the link below for more information:
